Ling 140: English Grammar for Teachers |
Course description |
In this class, we will familiarize ourselves with grammar forms, meanings, and uses that are of central relevance in the context of teaching English (as a native or foreign language), or in academic writing. By the end of this class, you will be able to describe and explain issues like the above. This will also enable you to identify and correct typical learner errors. While Ling 140 is designed primarily for those of you who may be interested in teaching English either abroad or in the U.S., the contents should also be useful to Linguistics majors, for those of you who study a language other than English, prospective writing tutors, or anyone interested in English grammar. |
